Les Petites Bonheures

Bonjour tout le monde!
In french the phrase: "les petites bonheures" translates to: "the little good moments". The french use this to refer to the small things in life that make it worthwhile, such as finding $20 in your winter coat pocket, or waking up to the sun shining instead of rain.
I love this saying.  "Les petites bonheures" are like the atoms of life. Invisible to the eye but necessary to create a solid structure (or any structure, if we're continuing the metaphor). This post is dedicated to the little good moments of the past week/week and a half because they are truly what is making this trip an adventure of a lifetime.

I shall begin with an homage to food. France truly does have the best food in the world! Everything is fresh, natural, and of course, full-fat. Typically, I am very cautious with how I spend my money, but French food is eating a hole in pocket while filling the hole in my stomach. No regrets. I can't help but smile when I have such beautiful cuisine at my disposal.
Left: coffee ice cream with coffee and chocolate covered coffee beans topped with whipped cream.
Right top: Toast with nutella, a pear, and yogurt.
Right bottom: raspberry tart and coffee.

 Are you drooling yet? Good!

Next, I want to acknowledge how beautiful my new home is. One thing I love about only being a temporary resident here in Grenoble, is that I won't ever get "used" to how gorgeous it is. After a while living in a place, you forget to look at it. Here, I wake up every day and see the Alpine Mountains, and it never gets less breathtaking.

1: The river  2: Some fallen leaves next to a fence 3: The bubbles! 4: Alps with snow
I will conclude with a small shout out to the friends I'm making here. It hasn't been the most easy thing to do, but the people I am meeting are a huge contributor to the fun I'm having here! Adventures are possible alone, it's true, but some things are way better when you can share them.

So no matter what country you are in or what language you speak, pay attention to "les petites bonheures".
