Saying Goodbye

Study abroad is an exciting prospect. Whenever I imagine the Mediterranean coast, sloping Alpine mountains, and flowing french language, I get shivers! (The good kind).

However, when i think about leaving home, and school, I start to feel pretty down. Particularly when it comes to my student organization, STAGE.

(above: STAGE's president, VP, and myself, at campus life night)

I'm secretary of our group right now and I absolutely LOVE it! We are a completely student run theater organization, and everything we do is student-produced. It is seriously the best part of my college life so far. I've met the most amazing people and been part of so many shows.

One of my favorite parts is being on e-board, and being able to contribute to our organization. We have so many cool ideas and I really enjoy being able to be such a big part of making them happen.

Elections for a new e-board are this Thursday and I'm unable to run next year because I'll be gone. It will be so heartbreaking for me to take a whole year's hiatus from the group! Not to mention I'd really love to run for office again next year...but what if none of the new members know me well enough?

Long story short: there is going to be a lot of things to miss while you're abroad. Whether it's a student org, friends, or family, saying goodbye is going to be HARD. (I know it seems weird that I'm lamenting a group rather than family or friends right now, but those will come soon I'm sure).

Just keep reminding yourself that GREAT ADVENTURES are in store for you, and you'll be able to share your amazing experience with everyone when you get back! After all, it's more of a see you later than an actual goodbye.

Avec Amour,
<3 A
